Some of the latest news in cricket

Lots of stuff has been going on in the past couple of weeks. Shane Warne’s two fines in the BBL (wish you never left IPL now, don’t you?), and lots of comebacks as the new year of cricket unfolds. Firstly, India’s furious comeback in the ODI series after being routed in the tests, and New Zealand, after being whitewashed by South Africa, missed an ODI whitewash by one good ball. On the comical side, both Rohit Sharma and “Sir” Ravindra Jadeja pulled off some beautiful shows and silenced trollers everywhere. Also, the IPL teams have been doing some domestic recruiting. Like RCB have brought in a little-heard of fast bowler from Kerala called Sandeep Warrier, Tamil Nadu and former CSK opener Abhinav Mukund, and the former DC opener Sunny Sohal. This means that RCB now have 6 able openers in Chris Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mukund, and Sohal. Also, the Pune Warriors have signed Ishwar Pandey, who is the leading wicket taker in this year’s Ranji Trophy. This is an interesting move, as Pune are already thriving in young talent, with people like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Anstup Majumdar, and more. The Rajasthan Royals have appointed Paddy Upton as their new head coach. Also, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have named Tom Moody as their coach. Another major event that’s happened is that Anil Kumble has quit RCB, and has gone to play the same role as chief mentor for the Mumbai Indians. So let’s wish all these players good luck for their future, and hope the cricket stays fun and unfixed. Au revoir! 🙂
