IPL 2012 so far

So far the DLF IPL has been going beautifully. First Mumbai’s thumping win over Chennai, then Kolkata’s rainwashed loss to the Delhi Daredevils, then Dravid’s Royals coming with  thumping wins over Punjab and KKR, then Pune’s elegance in the field granting them wins over MI and KXIP, and last but not least Jadeja’s superb all-round show helping CSK thrash Deccan Chargers by a massive 74 runs, and Bangalore’s AB de Villiers and Muttiah Muralitharan making sure RCB beat DD by 20 runs. Now DC face and uphill task against the Mumbai Indians (or should I say Old DC ?!). After suffering that immense loss against CSK, which has put their net run rate at a horrible -3.700. So if DC want to get back in the contest the must not win, but thrash MI. Kumar Sangakkara’s return from a moderately successful 2-Test series vs England will definitely benefit the Chargers. Other than that, AB de Villiers commented that Bangalore had the best crowd ever (take that CSK fans!) and people are saying that Pune will be this year’s surprise team. I don’t think so, though. 2 wins vs 2 teams that have struggled with the bat is nothing very awesome. Wait and watch what will happen when Ashok Dinda bowls to Chris Gayle. I doubt Ganguly’s luck will hold off that far. But one player who has really outdone himself this IPL is Kevon Cooper. Picked into the RR playing 11 ahead o the likes of Brad Hogg and Shaun Tait, he has proved the selectors’ decision correct. He is currently the holder of the Purple Cap while Ajinkya Rahane holds the Orange Cap. So that’s all for now. So tonight, it’s the Deccan Chargers playing the Mumbai Indians, on Set Max (for Tata Sky users, Set Max HD is also available) at 8:00 PM. The Extraa Innings T20 starts at 7:00 PM. Adios
